On behalf of Shinfield Parish Council, we are delighted to welcome you to the Shinfield Public Art Project—an exciting initiative that aims to celebrate our community’s identity, creativity, and shared future.

As Chair of the Parish Council, I am proud to see our vision for a vibrant and inclusive Shinfield Parish come to life through this project. The new sculpture, to be installed beside the School Green Centre, will serve not only as a striking landmark but also as a symbol of our parish’s heritage, diversity, and aspirations. It will stand at the heart of our community—both geographically and culturally—connecting residents, visitors, and generations to come.

This project is a testament to our commitment to enhancing public spaces across the parish and enriching the lives of those who live, work, and visit here. It reflects our belief that art belongs to everyone and that it has the power to inspire, unite, and transform.

As Chair of the Council’s Arts, Culture & Events Committee, I am equally thrilled to support this initiative. Working alongside Arts4Wokingham and intending to involve our community, we are launching a public art competition to find an artist whose work will resonate with Shinfield’s unique character. We are especially excited about the opportunities this project brings for public engagement, education, and celebration.
